Ryman Auditorium Concert Guide: Bags, Parking, Accessibility and Downtown Nashville
Research-based planning. Verify time-sensitive details with the named provider before booking.
Ryman Auditorium is at 116 Rep. John Lewis Way North in downtown Nashville. The venue’s visitor guidance says the entrance is on the Fourth Avenue side, which makes a downtown hotel especially useful for concertgoers who want to walk rather than move a car through the central entertainment district.
Security and bags
The Ryman says all concert guests pass through weapons-detection screening and all bags are subject to search. Its current security rules prohibit backpacks and oversized bags, among other items. The official material reviewed for this guide does not publish a general maximum allowed-bag dimension that is useful enough to repeat as a universal rule, so this guide does not invent one. Bring as little as practical and recheck the event/venue page before departure.
The Ryman FAQ also says there is no coat check. Camera rules can be event-specific.
Accessibility
The Ryman publishes wheelchair seating information for the main floor and balcony, accessible restroom information, service-animal guidance, and complimentary wheelchairs on request. Sign-language interpretation can be requested in advance; the venue currently asks for at least three weeks’ notice. Contact the venue directly for event-specific needs.
Parking, public transport and rideshare
The Ryman does not operate its own public parking lot. Its official directions page points guests to paid downtown parking, including Fifth + Broadway across the street, and identifies Lyft as its rideshare partner. Parking inventory and rates can change, so use the venue’s current directions page rather than a screenshot or old blog.
Downtown is also served by WeGo transit. If you are arriving from Nashville International Airport, WeGo Route 18 connects BNA with downtown transit facilities; check the current timetable before relying on it for a specific flight or show.
Dining before the show
Assembly Food Hall is across from the Ryman/Fifth + Broadway area and offers multiple food vendors. Official pages reviewed during this research displayed changing or inconsistent hour information, and individual vendor hours can differ, so this guide intentionally does not hard-code a closing time. Check the hall and the individual vendor before planning a tight pre-show meal.
After the concert
If you are staying downtown, walking back to the hotel can remove the uncertainty of finding a car immediately after the show, but use current conditions and your own judgment when choosing a route. If using rideshare, follow venue guidance and app instructions. Do not assume curb access is identical before and after the event.
